Who I am and Why Bitcoin
I work full time as an account exectutive for a global leader in the hospitality software space. I hold a Master Degree in Theology and have always been fascinated by the important questions.
Bitcoin represents an opportunity to ask a question with implications for how we conduct everyday economic choices, but also broadly how society interacts as a whole. Bitcoin causes us to ask the question of "what is money?" This is a question that few people have asked themselves and thought very deeply about.
When we start to dig into that question, we find that every form of money ever attempted has had significant limitations based on external factors. Bitcoin is not an invention but a discovery of money that carries all the intrinsic properties of money without the shortcomings of fiat or gold. It is resistant to censorship and requires individuals to act with self sovereignty in their spending and saving of it.
Why 42? In the Douglas Adam's classic "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" there's an all knowing computer that provides the answer to "life, the universe and everything" and that answer is 42. However, the computer further explains that no one truely knows the right question. This absurdity has paralells into our modern society that I always enjoy. Perhaps in some ways, Bitcon is the answer to our years of searching for meaning, but we still haven't asked the right question.
